Kia Patterson’s last day with Milwaukee Succeeds is Friday, December 16.
Hi Friends, Some of you may not know, but our v
ery own Kia Patterson’s last day with Milwaukee Succeeds is Friday, December 16. She has decided to move to Texas to be closer to her family. Kia has been with Greater Milwaukee Foundation for four years and joined the Milwaukee Succeeds family in 2012. We are all truly sad, but know just how important family is. In this week’s edition of Hey It’s Danae, we are saying a fond farewell to Kia. We asked the team to reflect on their memories with Kia. Personally, I can’t imagine what it will be like to not see Kia’s face on Monday! More than anything I want to sincerely thank Kia for showing me how to see the good in everybody, treat all with kindness and love and to appreciate what each of us has to offer. I will miss her dearly.
Take it away Team! See you soon,
We will miss you so! You have been such a critical player on the MKE Succeeds team from day 1, it is hard to imagine MKE Succeeds without you! You dove in from the first day, doing whatever needed to be done-always with a smile on your face- because you know what’s at stake-our kids’ future! Not sure how we ever had an Executive Committee or Leadership Committee, or Operations Team meeting without you-and that was just a small part of your job! You have been a great contributor to GMF’s work overall and a team player who everyone can count on throughout the organization! Thank you so much for being such a fabulous all-star player!! Please keep in touch with us and let us know about your new life in Texas-once a part of the GMF family, we want to hear from you! Best of luck, Kia- You deserve the best!

Thank you Kia for always making me and the team feel welcomed, appreciated and supported. We write these goodbyes knowing we will continue to be connected by the work we have done to support our city. I know you will continue to make people feel connected and valued.

Kia - We’re still mad at you for not saving us any shrimp after the Milwaukee Succeeds Stories of Transformation Event at MATC. Please do not contact us until you find delicious shrimp in Texas. Best of luck in your shrimp search.

It’s really hard to see Kia leave. I’m so grateful for the memories created by our time working together –they will help me get through the sadness of missing her! No matter the nature- professional or personal – she’s been there for me since day one, usually with a smile on her face. My Milwaukee Succeeds experience just won’t be the same. Wishing Kia many blessings, lots of sunshine, and a peaceful heart. In gratitude and friendship .

Kia has an absolutely infectious smile and positive outlook on everything she does. You can’t help but be uplifted and energized when talking to her or just being around her. I admired her commitment to Milwaukee Succeeds and to her work overall, especially in those early days when so much was undefined. She really was an important part of the team who helped it become the strong partnership that it is today.

Oh, what bitter-sweet news, I love Kia!! Working with Kia was wonderful!! Kia always has a SMILE on her voice, even when my message was “sorry not available on ANY of those dates listed,” Kia would laugh and happily move on to plan B… Kia knows my number by heart, and would answer the phone with “Hi Deb!!!” and we both would laugh… I wish Kia great success and bliss!!! Hugs
